Bob Maughon is the President of Circular Logic Executive Advisors, LLC, a business consulting firm focused on connecting technology and sustainability to deliver grounded solutions to address the needed transition of industry to a more circular and low emission future and the rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.

Maughon recently retired from SABIC in April 2024, where he was serving as the EVP, Sustainability, Technology & Innovation and CTO & CSO.  While at SABIC, he oversaw a global organization with 19 research centers and a talented team of over 1700+ focused on process, product and application innovation to support SABIC’s growth.  Additionally, Maughon had responsibility for Corporate Sustainability, Low Carbon Business Development, Product Stewardship, Technology Licensing, Technology Ventures, and Chaired the ESG Steering Committee.

Prior to joining SABIC in 2019, Maughon completed a 21-year career with Dow, most recently serving as the R&D Vice President for Packaging & Specialty Plastics and Hydrocarbons.

Maughon currently serves as a member of the Board and ExCom for the PIF Saudi Investment Recycling Company, Aspentech Executive Advisory Board, and the American Chemical Society Sustainable Development Advisory Council.

Maughon was recently awarded the 2023 R&D100 Sustainability Innovator of the Year.

Maughon earned his BA degree in chemistry from Rice University and his PhD in organic chemistry from the California Institute of Technology.
